How to become a payroll administrator

Payroll administrators make sure people are paid correctly and on time — calculating pay, tax, National Insurance, pensions and other deductions, and keeping payroll records.

You could work in a company's payroll or HR team, a payroll bureau, an accountancy firm or the public sector.

You do not need a licence to work in payroll. Apprenticeships and CIPP qualifications can help you progress.
