Exams

Most candidates finish with a Professional Review. The Experienced Practitioner pathway adds a programme with its own exam fee.

Entry

• Generally 3 to 5 years' experience and a degree-level qualification
• Qualified & Experienced pathway: 3 years' experience with a construction degree, or 5 years with a non-construction degree
• Experienced Practitioner pathway for people without a degree, through CIOB's four-module Chartered Membership Programme

Also required

• Professional Review assessing knowledge, experience and competence in construction management

Continuing development

Members are expected to keep up continuing professional development.

Assessment and registration fees

• Student membership is free. Training provider fees for the Chartered Membership Programme are separate and not included.
